We don’t talk about this side of things enough, but we really do love what we do here at RF3 Design. It’s not just a means to an end! 😄
So what do we love about it? Most of it actually… but we’ll be more specific.
The variety is the big one. Running an independent design studio means we never quite know what’s coming next. We’ve worked on everything from wheelchairs for disabled children to EV charging technology.
That’s involved a lot of 3D modelling and technical drawings, but also patent applications, 3D animations, electronics development, user manuals, medical device quality management to ISO 13485, and even helping a customer rescue an old CNC fabric cutting machine that was destined for scrap!
There’s always something new to learn. We also find the people side of things really rewarding, particularly working with clients who are passionate about what they’re building.
We’ve been lucky enough to work on quite a few novel projects and helped to develop multiple patented inventions over the years.
That’s part of why we always try to stay open-minded about new ideas.
Novel concepts often get pushback simply because they’re unfamiliar but sometimes what looks impractical is really more of an implementation problem than a fundamental flaw.
We love solving these challenges and seeing an idea through from concept to fruition!
