The Durachannel
Description
The Durachannel is an injection moulded linear drainage channel, manufactured from recycled plastics. It provides a high flow drainage channel for large areas such as car parks or runways.

RF3 Design worked closely with Duraproducts to create the Durachannel. Duraproducts provided the initial concept sketchs and specifications for the component, which RF3 Desgn used as the basis for a 3D CAD model of the unit. This 3D model was iterated upon and reviewed regulairly with Duraproducts to ensure all the design goals were met. During the design process RF3 ensured the design met the requirments for injection moulding.
The model was approved and 3D CAD data was released to the toolmakers, during the tooling process RF3 Design provided support to Duraproducts and the toolmakers to ensure a smooth transition into production. Sample units were supplied and sucessfully tested to the D400 loading specification.
Once completed RF3 Design worked with Durachannel to produce the required supporting documentation, including 2D component drawings and installation details.
