We want to share something we’ve noticed recently – and this is just our own experience, not a comment on the wider debate around AI!
Something has changed in the way new clients are coming to us with ideas.
In the last few months we’ve had three separate enquiries where clients arrived with AI-generated renders of the product they wanted to create.
Perhaps surprisingly, it’s been really useful.
One of the biggest challenges in early-stage design work is getting a clear picture of what’s in a client’s head. AI image generation seems to be helping with exactly that, as these clients were able to hand us a clear visual reference from the very first conversation, rather than trying to describe something from scratch.
It doesn’t replace the concept stage, though. Part of our job is to dig beneath the surface of what a client thinks they want, identify potential issues and work out what they actually need.
The AI images are a great tool for communicating an initial idea and building foundations to iterate from.
The rest of the process still very much requires a human. 🙌
